Dr. Karol is a board-certified internal medicine physician with more than 30 years of experience in caring for patients. She is a founding partner and co-owner of Concierge Physicians of Westport, a practice she helped establish in 2017 with the goal of creating a more personal, connected experience for patients.
Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Karol attended Stuyvesant High School and went on to study English Literature at Brown University. She earned her medical degree from The Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she met her husband, Ian Karol, now a local radiologist. She completed her internal medicine residency at Greenwich Hospital and spent the early part of her career practicing in the Bronx, Pennsylvania, and Hamden. In 1999, she and her family settled in Westport. That same year, she joined Internal Medicine Associates of Westport and has been caring for patients in the community ever since, all while raising her three children, Alex, Josh, and Zach.
Over the years, she has been recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor and named a Fairfield County Top Doctor multiple times. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has been recertified twice. She is also an active member of the American College of Physicians.
Her medical interests include endocrine conditions such as weight management and obesity treatment. She is also highly experienced in women’s health, including the management of menopause, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of complex medical conditions. She believes in preventive care, lifestyle-based solutions, and tailoring treatment plans to meet each patient’s unique needs.
Outside of work, Dr. Karol enjoys walking her two dogs, gardening, quilting, reading, and staying active. She is a regular on the pickleball court and a novice golfer.
